Made in France.
Exclusive to KD BIEL.
This beautfully versatile knife has been carefully handcrafted by Fontenille-Patuad in the traditional "Capachadou" folding blade style. Measuring 12cm folded and 21cm open, it features a black resin handle with brass inlay and a Lapis Lazuli gem inlayed into the spring. The hand-chiseled, hand-chased "shamrock" spring features a bladestop that helps maintain the blade's edge and denotes a knife of artisan quality - unlike mass market products that have welded, machine decorated springs. The hand file work and details make each knife a unique piece of art. Each knife is presented in a refined wooden box.
Fontenille-Pataud was founded in 1929. It quickly became recognized as a manufacturer of high-end table knives admired and revered for their expertise and use of ivory, horn and other fine wood. As a testimony to their craft, some of these knives are permanently on display at the French knife museum in Thiers, France.
