MG by Hand small English porcelain serving platter. This piece is part of the calligraphy series of bowls and platters referencing the calligraphic work of Hungarian-born Georg Bocskay, one of the most celebrated scribes of the 1500s. Size may vary slightly as each piece is hand-thrown.

Artist Melissa Goldstein of MG by Hand takes inspiration from 17th century German and Japanese illustration as well as Scandinavian and Japanese ceramic for her hand-painted cobalt ceramic tableware. Patterns are adapted from Goldstein's drawings of the birds, flowers, and herbs found in her own garden. Each piece is hand crafted in Melissa's home studio in Brooklyn NY.
